About Roamer

Roamer in a nutshell:

By creating a centralized platform I hope to lower the barriers of entry into the business of roaming homes and further facilitate and encourage innovation.

The full spiel:

Hi! I'm Dax.

For two years I was full time roamer and forever an outdoor enthusiast. I started this website when I was rebuilding a vintage camper trailer (that's it in our logo!), but was having a hard time finding a centralized location to buy parts and find guidance. I started searching for "Vanlife" parts, since it at least seemed to be a more unified way to search - but still ran into the same issues.

The websites where you can find parts for our roaming homes are either privately owned and selling from their personal inventory, or the search engines are not optimized to help find parts for an RV / Trailer / Converted van. I've spent countless hours sorting through pages and pages of unrelated items.  It was even worse when trying to find skilled technicians for services such as retrofitting my camper with a solar system (which terrified me!).

And so the concept of Roamer was born as a place not only to centralize supplies (and eventually information & knowledge) related to building, rebuilding, and overall improving live-in vehicles of all types. Along with this goal is the desire to grow our community and support the very skilled and innovative craftspeople that service the industry with products and knowledge. Roamer is meant to give these people a place to shine, to be found, to interact.

By creating a centralized platform I hope to lower the barriers of entry into the business of roaming homes and further facilitate and encourage innovation.

This concept excites me - I want to see what can be done with these spaces! Weather you are nomad-curious, a part timer, or a committed roamer, I hope it excites you too!

The store will launch in US. Regional expansion to be explored at a later time.
